Windows Vista “can be” FREE!!

November 15th, 2005

Now this is something no one ever thought of, Microsoft is thinking about an Idea of offering some of its product for free (Including Windows) with ad-support.

According to Cnet.com:

Although no specific plans have been made, executives within Microsoft are examining whether it makes sense to release ad-supported versions of products such as Works, Money, or even the Windows operating system itself, according to internal documents seen by CNET News.com.

Wow! But do you think it make sense? Hell no. I would love to pay six thousand bucks for an add-free version of Windows XP rather than getting it free with tons of banner.

Imagine you start your Windows instead of Login screen you see a huge banner of Expedia with a small link on top that says “Skip this advertisement”. I start drafting a letter in my MS Word and a banner of HP printer on to makes me go nuts.

I think ad-supported model is good idea but not of the product like Windows and MS Office. I love them the way they are. If Microsoft really wants to make their customer happy, make these two cheaper.
