Barista neither offers authentic coffee nor thet "tit bits" that go along with coffee. In addition, its products are priced expensively. CCD does a much better job in delivering a great "coffee experience" to its customers and also provides value for money. However both companies lack the vision of integrating coffee experience with the regular life of the customer as Starbucks does it is the US. Instead both companies have tried to copy the business model of Starbucks. To be successful you just cant copy business models. But i guess in India people dont bother about quality and they do not waant to pay extra for that. This is not the case in other parts of the world. I guess a lot has to do with our attitude towards quality and the price we are willing to pay for it. We instead focus on price and other tangibles and go with the product/service which offers the lowest cost.

I am not sure how we can become a global player with this sort of mindset. And untill we change our mindset, indian companies and other MNC's in India will continue to link success to lower prices.
